Building Inspections
Stephen Potts and Stephen Parry are responsible for the Quinquennial Inspections of more than 150 ecclesiastical buildings spread throughout Yorkshire. Very many of these are Listed and a large number are more than 500 years old. The identification and correct diagnosis of defects in the fabric of old buildings requires specialist skills that can only be properly acquired over time, and with more than 30 years experience in the field, Stephen Potts and Stephen Parry are well placed to offer this expertise. Inspections are also carried out to secular buildings of any age and type.
A typical Inspection Report will provide a detailed appraisal of the building fabric, followed by a costed summary of any recommended works, laid out according to priority over a 5 year period. This format is recognised by all major grant providers, including English Heritage, and thereby enables those with responsibility for buildings to use their Report as the basis for grant applications if necessary.
Heritage Lottery Fund
John Ives is an appointed Assessor, Mentor and Associate Monitor for the Heritage Lottery Fund. The work involves providing expert advice on applications made to the HLF, working with and mentoring applicants as they develop their Stage 2 bids and monitoring projects once a grant has been awarded to ensure the HLF's objectives and requirements are met.
Work is normally carried out for the Yorkshire and Humberside Region and the East Midlands Region. However projects in the South of England and Northern Ireland have also been assisted.
CDM Co-ordinator
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 aim to integrate health and safety into the management of all construction projects and encourage everyone to work together to ensure construction work can be carried out safely and without risk to health. Except for where the project is for a domestic client, the HSE must be notified of projects where the construction work is expected to last more than 30 working days or involve more than 500 person days. If the HSE have to be notified, then the client must appoint a CDM Co-ordinator.
At PPIY Limited we have the knowledge, experience and resources necessary to ensure the successful delivery of this service to our clients and are able to take on the role of CDM Co-ordinator in house for a wide range of major and minor projects.
